Just in case you’re wondering why I posted both the “Introduction” to, as well as “Episode 1″ of, the Jesus and the Catholic Church Podcast today, it’s because I wanted to give you not only an explanation of the podcast but a taste of what I hope it will be.

Also, I figured that more people would be interested in “Episode 1″ than in the “Introduction.” I’m one of the few people out there who actually read a book’s Introduction. Most people, I have found, skip a books intro and  dive right into Chapter 1. I figure this translates to podcasts as well. So for those of you who skip introductions, you have something to listen to today as well.

Finally, my wife, who’s in marketing, was adamant that I keep these podcasts to about 20 minutes. For the time being, I think she’s right. The “Introduction” checks in at a little more than 50 minutes.That’s two strikes against it — it’s not only an introduction (that most people skip), but it’s a long introduciton. How many people are going to listen to it? That’s right — not too many.

So since I’ve been talking about this podcast for a few months — and since I did a big “It’s Coming” post a few days ago — I realized it would be rather stupid to keep people waiting.
